If you’re looking for a great deal on a new or used GMC car, you’ll have come to the right place. At Harbor GMC, you’ll be able to check out the all new 2011 GMC Acadia, one of GMC’s award-winning crossovers.
The 2011 GMC Acadia is “great capability coupled with exceptional safety.” The Acadia is GMC’s first crossover SUV that started selling in the US in December 2006. Acadia has seating for up to eight passengers while still providing great fuel economy- better than other eight-passenger vehicles from other manufacturers. To make Acadia even better, GMC is introducing the 2011Acadia Denali this coming fall.
On the outside, you’ll notice that the Acadia has a lower stance. This allows for easy entry and a low liftover height in the back, allowing you to load and unload your cargo from groceries to suitcases more easily. To make cargo loading even easier, you may also choose to add an optional power liftgate (standard on SLE and SLT models) to your Acadia, giving you the access to the rear cargo area with hands-free convenience. The power liftgate can be operated using the key fob, a button in the rear cargo area, or a switch in the center console by the front seats. For even more cargo space, the second and third row seatbacks can be made to lie flat, creating 116.9 cubic feet of cargo space.
Inside the Acadia, elements were engineered to ensure a comfortable ride. Acoustic foam used in the interior, refined engine movements, and even the wiper blades were designed to reduce noise. You have the option to have heated and cooled leather front seats and optional tri-zone climate control, allowing full control of not just the temperature inside the Acadia, but also for each individual row. The Acadia’s steering wheel has controls built right in to allow you to control the audio system or allow for hands-free calling so you don’t have to take your hands off the wheel. Acadia also has a very open floor plan, so rear-seat passengers don’t get that reduced leg-and-shoulder room often found in other 7-8 passenger vehicles. The SmartSlide system on second-row seats allows you to move them forward with one hand for even easier access to the third row.
Acadia also comes jam-packed with the latest technology. From integrating your Bluetooth for hands-free calling to a USB port to plug in your MP3 player or iPod to listen to and charge, Acadia makes driving fun. You can also get a navigation system built right into the main console to get directions to where you need to go. You can also have a rearview camera system that displays in the navigation screen or in part of your rearview mirror to help you backup safely. To keep your rear-seat passengers entertained, Acadia has an available Rear-Seat Entertainment System with DVD player and a pair of wireless headphones, complete with a Bose 10-speaker 5.1 Surround Sound System.
Even with all these available features, Acadia still has more to offer for performance and handling. Acadia’s engine uses Direct Injection technology, giving it more standard horsepower and torque that the competitors. Direct Injection also allows for better fuel economy and performance by improving combustion efficiency and emission reduction. Acadia also comes standard with the StabiliTrak stability control system. This system helps control on most road surfaces, improving safety. An onboard computer receives information from sensors reading your driving actions, including the position of your steering wheel, speed, brake pressure, lateral acceleration, and the rate you’re turning at. If something isn’t responding appropriately, the onboard computer makes adjustments accordingly to engine speed and/or brake pressure to the individual wheels helping you stay on track when driving conditions get rough. To top it all off, Acadia has the 2010 NHTSA Five-Star Frontal and Side-Impact Crash-Test Ratings, which is the highest possible a vehicle can receive.
In addition to the Acadia, GMC offers an extensive line-up of vehicles, and there’s sure to be one that suits your needs. You might also want to check out the Sierra, Canyon, Terrain, Yukon, and Savana, some of which also come in Hybrid or Denali models.
